Our Mandate

Managing People, Powering Healthcare

The Calabar Cancer Registry of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) is a vital institution dedicated to the systematic collection, analysis, and dissemination of data on cancer cases within the region. As a population-based registry, it plays a pivotal role in monitoring cancer trends, identifying risk factors, and evaluating the effectiveness of prevention and treatment strategies. With a mission to improve public health outcomes, the registry collaborates with local and international organizations to enhance cancer surveillance and foster research aimed at understanding the unique cancer burden in Nigeria and West Africa.

Equipped with a team of dedicated professionals, the Calabar Cancer Registry is committed to raising awareness about cancer prevention and early detection. It actively engages in public health campaigns, educational outreach, and capacity-building initiatives to improve the region's healthcare delivery. Through its data-driven approach, the registry supports evidence-based policymaking, contributing to the development of strategies that address the growing challenge of cancer in our society. By bridging the gap between research and clinical practice, the Calabar Cancer Registry continues to be a beacon of hope in the fight against cancer.
